Strengthening Our Environmental Impact with SOPREMA
In collaboration with SOPREMA, we’ve significantly strengthened our sustainability initiatives. Together, we have developed comprehensive action plans extending through 2025, all aimed at advancing towards our goal of net zero carbon by 2050.

As a leader in manufacturing construction products and materials, SOPREMA actively contributes to sustainable development by addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. The company is committed to protecting the environment, combating climate change, and enhancing health and well-being. SOPREMA integrates a systemic approach inspired by lifecycle analysis, ensuring that its strategies and actions are coherent, sustainable, and beneficial for both present and future generations.
The energy used in the production of PIR insulation is relatively small compared to the ongoing energy savings it provides over its lifetime. Studies and industry data typically show that the energy savings can be more than 100 times the energy consumed during the manufacturing process.
All Celotex products are manufactured under an Environmental Management System which is aligned with ISO 14001 standards. BRE Global Green Guide generic specification achieves a summary rating of A. Global Warming Potential (GWP) Less than 5 and zero Ozone depletion (ODP)
Our Approach
At the Celotex Eggborough plant, we have significantly reduced landfill waste to near zero. Additionally, we have transitioned from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources at both plants, underscoring our commitment to environmental responsibility.
We are actively collaborating with XPO Logistics to further reduce our carbon footprint. This partnership focuses on optimising delivery routes, enhancing site efficiency, and implementing smarter logistics strategies to minimise our environmental impact.
Additionally, to ensure our team is aligned with our sustainability goals, we’ve integrated environmental education into our staff training programmes. This provides our team with the knowledge to understand and minimise our environmental impact.
